CLÉMENT DUCOL

Born in 1981, Clément Ducol began his career in music at the age of 8, with "Les petits chanteurs de Paris", a boys' choir for which he sang around the world with the most prestigious music ensembles. He also sang Yniold's part in Peter Brook's adaptation of Debussy's opera “Pelléas et Mélisande”.

Meanwhile, Clément studied cello, piano, harmony, orchestration and percussion and joined the "Conservatoire National Supérieur" in Lyon to learn orchestration and percussion. He later played percussion and trained in dance.

Clément went on to work extensively as music arranger, producer, and composer in fields spanning pop music, contemporary classical music, and cinema.

He has been collaborating with some of the most acclaimed contemporary artists both in France (Camille, Vincent Delerm, Alain Souchon, Christophe, Vanessa Paradis) and worldwide (Youn Sun Na, Roni Alter, Melody Gardot, Gregory Porter, Lianne La Havas, Keziah Jones, ect.). He also worked alongside Hans Zimmer on original songs for “THE LITTLE PRINCE” directed by Mark Osborne, with Jeff Bridges, Mackenzie Foy, Rachel McAdams, and Marion Cotillard.

Currently, Clément works as a music composer for films and he has the confidence of famous French directors. The highlighted film “LITTLE TICKLES” directed by Andréa Bescond and Éric Métayer, in competition in the “official selection” of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and multi-awarded at the French Awards César, ended up making Clément perfectly visible in the world of cinema, for his infinite qualities, artistic, human and technical.

In 2021, he collaborated with Leos Carax and The Sparks, on the musical drama “ANNETTE” (staring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard). The film was presented as an opening and in competition in the “official selection” of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. It is one of the most nominated musical films in French cinema, winning 5 Césars Awards, including the music one, out of 11 nominations.

Additionally, François Ozon called on him for his new film “PETER VON KANT”, adaptation of the play “The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant” by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. With Isabelle Adjani and Denis Menochet in the cast, the film was the opening of the Berlin International Film Festival.

He has also composed the original score of “CHICKEN FOR LINDA” an animated feature film, comedy/musical that won the “Grand Prix du Festival d’Annecy” in 2023. For the score and the originals songs, Clément received a nomination in the music category at the French Awards César.

In the meantime and during these 4 last years, Clément composed the score and original songs of “EMILIA PEREZ”, musical drama directed by Jacques Audiard, (staring Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón), alongside female composer Camille. The film is presented in competition in the “official selection” of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. “EMILIA PEREZ”, was among the buzziest films in Cannes, and won 2 palms (Grand Prix du Jury, and Prix d’interpretation).
